CombSide is designed with a "Local-First" philosophy. We believe your research and knowledge should remain under your control. This policy explains what data we collect and how we protect your privacy.
Local Data: By default, all snippets, images, and notes you capture are stored locally in your browser's storage (IndexedDB). We do not have access to this data unless you explicitly choose to sync it.
Account Information: If you sign up for an account, we collect your email address to manage your subscription and provide synchronization services.
AI Processing: When you use AI features (like Fusion or Auto-Polish), the selected content is sent to our secure AI processing workers. This data is processed in real-time and is not used to train global AI models.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or captured content with third parties. Data is only shared with service providers (like Supabase for database or OpenRouter for AI) strictly to provide CombSide's core functionality.
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data during transit and at rest in our cloud synchronization service.
We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be notified via our website or directly through the extension.
